Infrastructure

Wieden is the name for the 4th district of Vienna. The district comprises of large residential areas with mostly historicist buildings and occasionally a mix of odd baroque Palis and post-war reconstruction “ugliness” where the buildings were built in a short-time in order accommodate for the shortage of residential houses and apartments. The tourists concentrate in the area of Karlsplatz, where the most dominant attraction is the Karlskirche Church, which was built in the early 1700s. Right next to the church is the Museum of Vienna, where one can track the history of the city from Stone Age to the modern day. The district also known for its outdoor fresh food market Naschmarkt. The market marks the border between the 4th and the 6th district, providing not only fresh but exotic imported food and spices from all over the world. Here local and tourists alike can enjoy various cuisines offered in quaint and cosy settings of different restaurants through out the day.
The apartment is located at Rilkeplatz, only 3 minutes walking distance from the Karlsplatz und Ringstraße and 10 minutes walking distance from Vienna Concert House. The apartment is strategically located just off the Wiedner main road where tram line 1 and 62 runs pass, allowing guests with direct access to the city center. The Vienna Central Train Station is also well reachable from the apartment, with international and regional trains connections and metro line U1, making this location perfectly accessible and ideal to visit around Vienna.
Our guests will find a range of restaurants, cafes and bars all around the apartment. Our nearby favourites include Restaurant Gasthaus Ubl, an Austrian restaurant just six minutes away from the apartment, offering cosy indoor seating. Blueorange is another stop for breakfast with its tasty bagels or the feel of having coffee. Swing Kitchen, which is located on the parallel street, offers a wide variety of food- from burgers to desserts- and all vegan! For a fancy dinner or brunch experience, cross the Danube Canal and board the Motto am Fluss – a restaurant on a boat right on the Danube Canal. For traditional Austrian dishes, head on over to the famous Schweizerhaus near the Prater amusement park – a large beer garden, well-known for its excellent Stelze (knuckle of pork). A perfect sunset is best experienced with a glass of wine from the Loft Bar & Lounge on the uppermost floor of the Sofitel Hotel on the Danube Canal.
