Infrastructure
The area around the apartment is called Weißgerberviertel and is located directly between the Danube Canal and Vienna's 1st district. Very close by is the Hundertwasser House – an iconic, unconventional residential building with colorful, rounded forms, designed by the artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
The city center is a 7-minute walk away. Also nearby are the Stadtpark, Vienna's oldest park, and the Prater, one of the world's oldest amusement parks, featuring the famous Giant Ferris Wheel and plenty of green space for relaxation.
Just two minutes from our apartment, you'll find a great restaurant serving Viennese cuisine, a cozy café, a supermarket, a pharmacy, and a drugstore. If you're flying to Vienna, you'll likely land at Wien Mitte station, which is only a 10-minute walk away. There you'll also find the city's largest shopping center and one of the six supermarkets that are open on Sundays!
Landstraße, a main shopping street with three shopping centers close together and some of the city's best bakeries, is also very close by. The 1st district, the vibrant heart of Vienna, is also just a stone's throw away and easily reachable on foot.
