Infrastruktur

Neubau is the seventh district of Vienna; located near the city centre it counts as one of the inner districts. It is a lively and populated area, known for its young and hip feel, and abundance of shops, museums, restaurants, cafés and bars. Most notable sights in the district include the Main Library on the Gürtel (Hauptbücherei), with a bar and restaurant on top offering lovely views of Vienna, the Imperial Furniture Collection (Möbelmuseum), the Vienna Volkstheater, and the Museum Quarter (Museumsquartier) near the first district, which is one of the largest cultural centres in Europe, home to numerous museums and exhibitions, and a popular meeting spot among locals to enjoy art, a drink, or just to people-watch. You will find a range of boutiques and shops, as well as bars and restaurants, on the lively Mariahilfer Straße, a popular semi-pedestrianized shopping street. Do not miss a stroll along the cobble-stoned alleys of Spittelberg, lovely at any time of the year, but especially charming in winter when they host one of Vienna’s many Christmas Markets from mid-November until Christmas. In this bustling district, people of all interests and professions come together to give the neighbourhood a distinct eclectic feel.
The apartment is located in Neustiftgasse, on a lovely square of St. Ulrich church. Locating perfectly in the area of all the museums, it takes only 5 minutes to the Museum quarter, where there are lots of exhibitions throughout the year, and a popular meeting point for people of all ages in summer to chill on the laid out benches with cool drinks and music at the weekend, or over hot drinks from the Christmas drink tents set up in the inner courtyard. The two famous Natural history and Art history museums are also just under 10 minutes on foot. Meanwhile the parliament building and city hall are next to each other and it is a 10-minute stroll as well. Walk South for 15 minutes and you will find yourself in the bustling walking-shopping-street of Mariahilfer. The apartment is strategically located near Volkstheater metro station, connecting you to the metro lines U2 and U3. Diagonally from the apartment is a bus stops for lines 13A and 48, making the location very accessible. You will find numerous supermarkets, bakeries, cafes and restaurants in the surrounding area.
Our guests will find a range of restaurants, cafes and bars all around the apartment. Immediately on the ground floor of the building is Erich, a great spot to start your day with breakfast and coffee. At the other end of the square, is Ulrich, also a cosy place for food and drinks regardless summer or winter. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of art and culture with lunch at Corbaci, the place is within the premise of Museum quarter, and known for its decorative mosaic tile ceiling. Enjoying a stroll through the cobblestone lane of Spittelberg and find yourself a spot in one of the restaurants along this charming street such as Boheme, with Viennese traditional food served from the menu. A personal favourite place for Schnitzel in Vienna is Schnitzelwirt, on Neubaugasse, with full pages of different type of Schnitzel, one is sure to find a suitable way of Schnitzel to fit the preference.
